09/26/2006 Adoption Update e-mail

Greetings everyone!

I wanted to send out another update because I'm not sure that I'll have
easy access to the internet after today and tomorrow. Today we received
the final resolution saying that we are officially Loren, Veronica, and
Donna's parents. Hooray!!!!!! So, this means the adoption is
officially complete in Peru.

All that is left for us to do is get new birth certificates, and
visas/passports to leave the country. Of course, that will take a week
or two to complete. Tomorrow, we will leave for Lima at 5:05 pm, and we
should arrive around 6:15 pm. On Thursday, we are not scheduled to do
anything at this point. On Friday, however, we plan to get the new
birth certificates made. Then on Monday we start the long process of
obtaining visas/passports from the U.S. Embassy. They will do their own
investigation to make sure the girls were truly abandoned and that the
adoption is legal.

Tonight, the orphanage is giving a farewell party for us and another
family that is adopting a family of two boys and a girl. There will be
cake and games. The girls are very excited about leaving, and yet I'm
sure they are sad about leaving their friends and familiar way of life.

I'm attaching a few more pictures from the past few days.

If I get the chance I'll send another update from Lima when thing are
getting closer.

Please continue to pray for us. This next couple of weeks maybe harder,
as we our going to be in a smaller place, and we will be on our own more
or less with no one to translate for us. Our lawyers will be with us to
help us too, but of course they have work to do besides babysitting us.
Also, I'm a little concerned about purchasing plane tickets for the
girls. I'm worried about making sure we are able to book the same
flights for the girls that we have purchased for the rest of us.
